Machame route

After the Marangu route, this is the second most well-known route to Mount Kilimanjaro. This route was nicknamed Wiskey Route because it was the first camping route established to hike Mount Kilimanjaro. This route has become so popular because of its varied and beautiful nature. It is unbeaten and has amazing splendor.

Before beginning the hike, the route begins with a short drive from Moshi town to Machame gate. The route begins in the south, heads west, and then traverses beneath Kilimanjaro's southern ice field before summiting from the south east. The population on this route has decreased since the introduction of the Lemosho route, which is considered a new route. These two routes merge on day three and continue as one until the tour concludes.
