Rongai route

Rongai route is the only way to approach Mount Kilimanjaro from the north-east, near the Kenyan border, it starts with a long drive from Moshi to the Rongai gate, where the hikes begin. The route is less traveled than others until you reach Uhuru Peak (the summit) and then descend via the Marangu route. Because of its location, it is more suitable during the rainy season.

It is situated in a direction where the mountain receives very little rainfall per year and has varied scenery and beautiful nature, making it the best route during the wet season. Mount Kilimanjaro can be climbed all year round using this route. This route can be climbed in six days, but we recommend seven days with acclimatization at Mawenzi Turn hut camp. This route is accessible to anyone, including those with little backpacking experience, those who enjoy mountain biking, and those who face physical challenges. On this route, we have a 98% success rate.
